SEBASTIEN + TINA | WEDDING

It was a cool and quiet day at Levyland Estate. Sebastien and Tina celebrated with family and friends arriving from as far as France. The day was perfect, filled with love, laughter, and butterflies. Perfect.

LOOKING BACK…2010

Wow. Can you believe 2010 is coming to a close?? I can’t. I was looking through pictures, and this year was pretty unreal. I wanted to thank all the wonderful people I met and photographed this year. Thank you for opening up your lives and hearts. 2010 wouldn’t be nearly as cool with out you…yes, you!

BEN AND KATE | WEDDING

I wasn’t expecting to photograph any additional weddings this year, but when my good friend Laura asked me to assist over a rainy weekend, I couldn’t say no. The day was filled with so much love and happiness, the looming rain didn’t dampen any spirits and everyone jumped on board to move the scheduled outdoor ceremony indoors. In all honesty, the coziness of all the guests squeezed into the Ranch House in Los Penasquitos Canyon Preserve, added to the intimacy.

Kate and Ben decided to do a first look, and boy did it pay off! We had about 30 minutes without rain and were able to document their love in the beautiful natural surroundings.

Here are a few of my favorites from the day….

Congratulations Kate and Ben! It was such a pleasure to witness and document your love….and to shield you from a few rain drops! I wish you nothing but the best!

FRANCO + TUYET | WEDDING

You know when you meet someone and instantly click? That’s how I felt after meeting Tuyet and Franco. They are easily some of the most hospitable and genuinely caring people I have ever met. Even on THEIR wedding day! Their initial meeting occurred with the same instant attraction and I was so happy to join Laura Christin to document their day.

Here are a few of my favorites:

The ceremony and reception were held at the Scripps Seaside Forum in La Jolla. Talk about gorgeous views! Little do you know it was raining the day before! That’s how we do in San Diego!

After the ceremony Tuyet changed into a beautiful gold gown and we headed down to the beach just as the sun was setting for a few portraits.

My favorite! Tuyet, seriously, you are gorgeous.

A little dance with mom! Such a wonderful, happy moment…

LABOR OF LOVE + A FREE SHOOT

Ok, to be totally honest, I thought this day would never come. Change here, change there, change everywhere. I thought I would never make up my mind. Ever. Luckily, I have settled and I am so excited to share my new website! Maybe slightly scared too. In addition to never thinking I would finish the website, I never thought I would have one. Never thought I would need one. Never thought I would call myself a PHOTOGRAPHER. (Still working on that one!!) Never thought I would run a business, just never thought, ya know? So, for these reasons, and 5 million more, this is really exciting!

I created the website using SHOWIT software. It allows you to create a custom website without having to know html. It’s incredible, and if you are looking to build a website that is unique to you, CHECK IT OUT! Now. For real.

Photography has opened my eyes to fully appreciating and living life. I am continually blown away by the amazing clients and fellow photographers I have met over the past year and a half. Like, seriously blown away.

To celebrate the past, present, future, and the new digs, I want to give away a portrait session. Here are the rules…

2. The session must take place before the end of 2010 in San Diego County. 2011 is sneaking up fast!

It was a gorgeous day. The rainy weather the days leading up to the wedding left the air feeling fresh and crisp. It was great to see family and friends all come together to celebrate the union of two beautiful people. The day carried on seamlessly and I was was excited to be joining the fabulous Laura Christin. After the ceremony we headed over to Balboa Park for bride and groom portraits! It was such a beautiful day!

MARIA AND TED | WEDDING

It’s amazing how a smile can put me at ease. Maria is a shinning example of this. I still get crazy-ridiculous nervous before shooting, so having a subject bursting with joy helps everything fall into place. Well, that and second shooting for Gabrielle Fox of course!

It was a typical gorgeous San Diego day. Not too hot, not too cold. Perfect. Just like the love between Maria and Ted. The love and happiness surrounding them oozed with a tinge of contagiousness. I hope you can feel their love!

VIKKI AND ALLURI | WEDDING

I had the pleasure of accompanying Ahmed of AAcreation to Vikki and Alluri’s Hindu wedding. The truth is, I have been dying to shoot a South Asian wedding for quite some time. The ceremonies are full of so much culture and tradition, not to mention amazing colors and details. Really, black and white images just don’t do much justice! It was wonderful to witness the various aspects of the ceremony, here are a few of my favorites…

Kelly and Tommy | Wedding

This past Saturday I had the distinct pleasure of second shooting for the fabulous Gabrielle Fox! It was my first time second shooting and I don’t think I could have been more lucky! Kelly and Tommy opted to do a first look (seeing each other before the wedding) and allotted 2 entire hours for shooting in Downtown San Diego prior to the ceremony. Are you kidding me?!? 2 hours to do bride and groom portraits, for real?!? It was no joke and Kelly and Tommy have spectacular images because of it. And I’m not talking about my photos being spectacular…more having a variety of backdrops/looks and not feeling rushed. Also, they were so at ease come time for the ceremony and still had an emotional exchange of vows. It was a wonderfully crazy experience that I will never forget.
