I had the pleasure of accompanying Ahmed of AAcreation to Vikki and Alluri’s Hindu wedding. The truth is, I have been dying to shoot a South Asian wedding for quite some time. The ceremonies are full of so much culture and tradition, not to mention amazing colors and details. Really, black and white images just don’t do much justice! It was wonderful to witness the various aspects of the ceremony, here are a few of my favorites…

The arrival and welcoming of Alluri and his family. Vikki’s mother attempts to pinch Alluri’s nose….
Kanya Aagaman – Vikki’s arrival. The curtain is a symbol of a traditional barrier…
I love the saris, henna, and bracelets. Love!
The way a bride and groom look at each other never gets old…

I think this is my favorite! I just adore the excitement on their faces…
Blessings from married women…
Diving for rings. I have to say Alluri took every round haha…
This part was really fun to watch. Vikki’s sisters steal Alluri’s shoes and hold them for ransom.
Ahmed, thank you for the opportunity to second shoot, and also for sharing your knowledge. It was such a joy to be apart of Vikki and Alluri’s wedding day!

This past Saturday I had the distinct pleasure of second shooting for the fabulous Gabrielle Fox! It was my first time second shooting and I don’t think I could have been more lucky! Kelly and Tommy opted to do a first look (seeing each other before the wedding) and allotted 2 entire hours for shooting in Downtown San Diego prior to the ceremony. Are you kidding me?!? 2 hours to do bride and groom portraits, for real?!? It was no joke and Kelly and Tommy have spectacular images because of it. And I’m not talking about my photos being spectacular…more having a variety of backdrops/looks and not feeling rushed. Also, they were so at ease come time for the ceremony and still had an emotional exchange of vows. It was a wonderfully crazy experience that I will never forget.
Here are my favorite shots from the day…

First look!

Ok, seriously Kelly, you are fierce. I see you smiling with your eyes!

Her shoes were gorgeous!!

You two are a beautiful couple…
Gaaah! I love the next two images…

Reception and Ceremony were held at Tom Ham’s Lighthouse with stunning views of the San Diego Bay and Downtown.

Tommy’s mother presented Kelly with earrings, such a beautiful exchange…
Oh how I love your smiles…
Kelly and Tommy, thank you for letting me be apart of your day. Your love for each other was so contagious!! I hope your day met and went above all expectations!! I wish you two the best. xoxo
Gabby, thank you, thank you, thank you for such a wonderful second shooting experience. Word can not explain how awesome it was to shoot with you and I hope to do it in the future. Remember, YOU are the photographer that rocks. : )
For more amazing shots from the wedding visit her blog! Here is a little behind the scenes shot of Gabby in action. My role…to not get her hit by a car…
Thanks for stopping by!!!

Loved both the chair and the bouquet…

Ok, so I just put together my first slideshow in an hour using ShowitWeb. Are you kidding?! I literally just downloaded the software and followed the process. I’m not that awesome, it is just THAT easy. I’m glad I jumped on the 50% off David Jay offered last week. Worth every single penny! Thank you DJ!!
Without further ado, here is the slideshow!
Enjoy,

This weekend I fell in love. I fell in love with photography. I fell in love with love. And most of all, I fell in love with documenting love. I know, that is a whole lot of mush in just a few sentences, but it’s true!
On Saturday I had the honor of helping David (Yes, I could be plugging your blog here…hurry up!) capture the wedding of his cousin Alejandro, and beautiful bride to be Bianca. Considering that this was my first wedding, I really had no clue what to expect. Needless to say, it was amazing. Here are a few shots…
Isn’t she stunning?!

The roses smelled unreal…
One of my favorites!

Art captured the next two. Photographer in the making. Yes.

Sigh…love, love, love…
They are a beautiful couple…

The guests were asked to bring in a rock that reminded them of the bride and groom…

Bianca and Alejandro, thank you for letting Art and I be apart of your day.
David and Christine, we had a blast! Excellent idea!!
Thanks for stopping by!
